The collections contains a manuscript of a speech delivered in Congress by Hugh Nelson, 1813 February 4, in support of a bill "For the regulation of seamen on board the public ships...," passed on February 12 (Annals of the Congress, 17th Congrress, 2nd session, p. 988). The collection also contains a copy of the a Tax in Kind Form no. 2, filed 1864 December 5, by K. S. Nelson, Albemarle County, Va., written over with recipes in the blank spaces.
